Happy Thanksgiving...

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a nice day! We headed down to Olympia for the big meal with family around noon! We didnt have to cook anything and there was lots of yummy food. I felt a little helpless but tried to help out where I could. Grandma/Grandpa Pratt, Grant/Becki, Craig and his kids, and Chelsea and Garret were there. It was a little smaller than we were used to, but we had a nice afternoon hanging out and stuffing our mouths with delicious food!

Brody kept us on our toes. He pooped in his underwear and Clay had to change him (thankfully I carry an extra pair of undies with me at all times). Unfortunately, he pooped a second time and it was bad enough that we had to stick him in the bath. I was out of undies for him and he got poop in his pants. So Clay got to go search for something at Rite Aid and came back with some pullups! Never a dull moment with that kid!

Jack played with Chandler until he left and then the iPad came out and he played Angry Birds Star Wars with anyone who would play with him!

Cohen was a good little boy and played happily and then took a good nap!

When we got home we enjoyed more Zupfe and talked about what we are thankful for!

4 months...

Cohen is now 4 months! Sometimes I look at him and think he is getting so big and other times I think he is still so small!

He had his doctor appt. today and weighed in at 11.9 lbs (about 11lbs 14oz I believe) which put him in the 5%. He is 24in (25%) long and his head circumference is 42 3/4cm (50-75%). So he is a tiny little guy with a big head! Dr. Naylor was a little concerned about his weight. He is only 4 pounds more than he weighed at birth! I may have mentioned that Clay was sure he wasnt getting enough from me nursing him (he does also get about 1 or 2 bottles a day) and Dr. Naylor said that he probably had to agree with Clay. Great! I am still nursing him, but Dr. Naylor wants me to now give him a bottle (2-4oz) after every feeding. Works for me! As long as he starts sleeping better and putting on the weight! We arent going to start solids until about 6 months because he said the calories he will get from nursing and the formula will be better than from baby cereal.

Cohen has a nasty little rash on his abdomen that hopefully will go away with some stronger lotion. He still has cradle cap so we have to take care of that too, but other than that he is doing really well!

He rolls from his back to his tummy a lot, even though he hates being on his tummy! Still working on the other way around! Dr. Naylor was impressed with his neck control (probably because he has a big head!). He smiles and laughs, especially for his brothers! He loves having all of the attention on him and always wants to be held or played with!

Depending on the person, some people are sure he looks like Jack and others are sure he looks like Brody. I tend to think he looks more like Jack did at 4 months, but it is crazy to me how much they all look alike! We were eating dinner tonight and the lady next to us said they look like triplets!

He is still not sure about a pacifier and I see him sucking his thumb more and more. I really wish he would take a pacifier but I guess it is something I cant force! It is hard for me to listen to him cry when we lay him down, but that is how he soothes himself to sleep (he doesnt let us rock him to sleep...I guess that is a good thing, but it makes me a little sad).

Even though we are running low on sleep and patience around here, we really love our little Cohen Bear!

Halloween...

Naturally the boys wanted to be Star Wars characters for Halloween. I really wanted to do characters that werent as 'popular' but that didnt work out. I wanted Jack to be C3P0 and Brody to be R2D2 but couldnt quite figure out how to make costumes so...Jack was Obi Wan Kenobi, Brody was Luke Skywalker, and Cohen was Yoda. Jack already had the costume (He got it for Christmas last year) but it was a little big so I had to adjust it. I made the top for Brody but wish I had gone a little bigger...it still worked. And I crocheted Cohens Yoda hat from a pattern I got on Etsy. Clay didnt see the point in making something for Cohen but I have to say I am so glad I did anyway (sorry Clay). He was by far the cutest!!

We Clay carved the pumpkin with the boys Tuesday night! I love that he had to get a glove to scoop out the inside of the pumpkin! His boys are just like him...they dont like to get their hands dirty!!

Jack had a Harvest Celebration at school but didnt get to wear his costume (I guess they dont do that here in WA...lame). Brody, however, got to wear his costume and had a little program that we got to go to! He is all about the funny faces these days! Clay took the day off so we all got to go!

We had a Halloween inspired snack!

And then Aunt Virginia and our friends came over to go Trick or Treating! It rained a little on us but that didnt stop the kids one bit! They just kept saying, 'next house!' They probably could have gone all night, but Cohen decided it was time to go home and hand out candy! Jack was a little hesitant about going up to houses (he recently had a bad experience with some black labs and I think that made him nervous about going up to houses that might have dogs), but thankfully Aunt Virginia helped him to not be scared! We had a fun day and are making ourselves sick on all of the sweets we got!!
