Last Friday we knew it was going to be hot here (up in the 90's) so we thought we should take advantage of the weather and head out to the coast. Clay took the day off and we packed up the car and headed out! We had looked at the weather for the beach and thought it would be perfect, but as we drove, and got closer to the beach, the temperature just kept dropping! It got below 60 at one point and we started questioning our decision!
When we got there we found a decent parking spot, unloaded everything and hauled it to the beach only to realize you could drive on and park right on the beach! Who knew?! Once we got things set up Clay went back for the car! Thankfully we had bought an umbrella (because of Cohen) because it blocked the wind and made it not as cold! The sun made an appearance once or twice, but the clouds never really burned off!
I did like the fact that you could just drive right onto the beach, but I definitely felt like I had to watch the kids even more! And several cars got stuck in the sand so Clay got to help push them out. When they were really stuck we got to watch a guy in his jeep pull them out! It was very entertaining!
In any case, the older two loved it! Brody was covered in sand and would just run and fall into it like a pillow! We ventured down to the water a few times and boy was that water cold! We built sand castles, rested, and buried Jack in the sand! We also took our kites but didn't really get them to work!
We knew it was time to leave when Brody pooped in his swim trunks! It was beyond gross and we ended up throwing out the shorts because we didn't want them in the car on our 2 hour drive home! Oh that kid...
We all had fun, but we have decided we arent really 'beach people!' Jack asked for wipes every couple of minutes to wipe off his hands and Clay and I dont like it because sand gets into everything! I guess Brody didnt really seem bothered by it!

Attempting to fly kites!
Cohen all bundled up!
Our setup...this umbrella was such a good investment!
Watching for cars before heading out to the water.
