My new bag...check

So I have had a really long list of stuff I wanted to get done before leaving for Indiana on Tuesday and among the stuff was to sew my new diaper bag! I found a pattern from Amy Butler a couple of months ago and had to buy it!!! I finally got around to making it and finished it yesterday!! Clay says it is huge but I like it and think it will work well with all of the stuff I have to cart around for Jack!!! I may try to add a cute fabric flower to it some time...we will see! Yeah for crossing stuff off of my list...'check'!!!!

***And my huge list is now almost completed!!!!!! We are ready for Christmas!!!

Random Video...

Well this is just a random video I thought you might enjoy!!! Jack is learning to climb on things and the other day I found him trying to climb on his walker. He managed to get all the way on...it was really funny to watch him try to figure out how to make it work! The first part of the video isnt too exciting but oh well!! And sorry the video is so dark...I do live in Washington so our house isnt always bright and sunny :)

Aaaaahhhh...

Our computer is out in the living room since we only have 2 rooms and Jack LOVES to crawl under the desk and pull on the cords and sit on the printer. I have gotten so frustrated trying to keep him out from under there. I seriously dont know what to do. He thinks it is so funny and so we tried just ignoring him but that doesnt work...aaahhh!! There isnt really any way to block him and we have tried everything. What am I going to do with this boy????

Just had to get that off of my chest...

Jack climbing up onto the printer...

Sitting on the printer...

Laughing at Clay (taking the picture)...not funny :)

Latest...

I just thought I would post some recent pictures of Jack! Nothing too exciting has happened...just trying to get everything ready/taken care of before we leave for Indiana in 2 weeks from today (but who's counting?)!!!!

I found him like this the other day...he was just playing and having a good time in his bucket of toys!!!!

He always sleeps like this...bum in the air on his knees and face smashed into the mattress :) I love that he hugs his ducky!!! How could this possibly be comfy???!!!

We went to a tree farm with Chad and Colleen last weekend so that Chad could take some pics of us for a Christmas card! We didnt end up getting a tree since we are leaving so soon but sure wanted to! It was snowy and cold that day so we hung out in the car for a bit before we left :)

Thanksgiving...

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!!! I realize it was several days ago but I am just now getting some pictures up...we didnt really get any good pictures on Thanksgiving. We went down to Clays parents house for dinner and ate some great food!!! We had lots of fun with family and Jack was pooped out by the end of the day! Jack enjoyed his first Thanksgiving dinner and ate lots!!!!

Jack ready for Thanksgiving dinner

Ready for a nap in the car after a long day of eating and playing with cousins!
----------------------------------------------------------
These are just some random pictures...
He loves, loves, loves the computer and will take any route to get to it...I guess my brilliant plan of using the walker as a barrier isnt working anymore :)

Clay put Jack in 'time out' the other day...he put 2 chairs in the corner of the room...it was a matter of seconds before Jack figured out he could crawl under the chairs to get out!!

Jack is getting pretty good at climbing on various objects...the other night he managed to climb on top of the basket of games to reach the lamp in the corner of the room...what am I going to do with him??!!

10 months old...

Jack is 10 months old today!!! It is hard to believe that in just 2 months he will be 1...boy how time flies! Jack has grown so much! He is developing quite the personality. He has recently learned how to scream and will do it when he is mad and when he is happy...he has also started throwing little fits when we take things away from him, etc. (isnt he too young for that??). He likes to make friends wherever we go :). He says 'mamamama' all the time but I really doubt he realizes what he is saying. He isnt walking on his own, but crawls everywhere and gets into EVERYTHING. He has learned where everything is in the kitchen and loves to open the drawers (that arent locked) and pull everything out of them! When will he start listening to his parents when we say no???? He doesnt like to sit still so these pictures are not so good...I even had Clays help. Oh well!

This is what I ended up trying after several failed attempts at getting him to hold the sign.

Our happy boy :)

Yep I had to hold him!

He isnt wearing his nicest clothes and his hair isnt nicely combed (sorry dad and mom...I did it in a mowhak and then realized it was picture day!) but at least he is smiling!

Uncle Steve comes to visit...

My brother, Steve, came out to visit us for a couple of days before heading home for Thanksgiving! We had a lot of fun and Jack loved all of the attention!! On Friday we drove up to Seattle and met Clay for lunch...he was able to take the afternoon off so we could show Steve a little bit of the city! After lunch we walked about 12 blocks over to the Space Needle to discover it cost $16 a person (yes, that is right) to go up to the top. Clay did not want to go up but I finally convinced him that we needed to after walking all the way over...plus, Steve needed something to show for his trip out to Washington! So we got on the elevator that opens to the outside and I think I closed my eyes and held on to the railing the entire 41 seconds. I was fine once we got up to the top (even though I am terrified of heights) and we walked around the outside a couple of times and got some pictures. It started to sprinkle a little and we decided it was time to go! Definitely NOT worth the $16 but oh well. That was the most exciting thing we did but we really enjoyed having him stay with us!!!!!

Jack and his Uncle...he loved Steve!!!

Jack and I at the top of the Space Needle! It was a bit cold and windy!

I heart Celine...

Well, I am just going to say it...I like Celine Dion!! I have always liked her and even remember buying her cd, Lets Talk About Love, in high school and still listen to it on occasion. Say what you will but I am not afraid to admit it.

Recently, Celine has been on many shows (Today, Ellen, Oprah, etc) promoting her new cd. I love her new song, Taking Chances, and cant listen to it enough. So even though I cant figure out how to get the video from YouTube onto my blog, below is a link to it. There...I said it...I like Celine Dion!!!!!!!!!

Walking Machine...kind of...

We recently bought Jack a walker that he can push!!! I am trying to get him to start walking before we go out to Indiana for Christmas...we will see if that actually happens :). He doesnt love it but will walk with lots of encouragment from Clay and I!! He is getting better although more often than not he just stands there! It is only a matter of time right???

He is also starting to stand up on his own (without holding onto anything)...ok, only for a couple of seconds, but I think that is exciting!!! As you will see in the videos he is also learning how to make more sounds and can get very animated!!! Enjoy!

Happy Halloween...

Well I am glad we got some pictures of Jack in his monkey costume before Halloween because our pictures from the Skating Rink were not very good!!! He was a very cute monkey...thanks mom for the fun costume!!!!! We got to go to play group in the morning and of course I forgot my camera but we had fun! Then it was off to the skating rink....Happy Halloween!!!

He was a monkey (you cant see the face, but the banana in his pocket gives him away!)

Always on the go...this costume didnt hold him back...even though there was padding!!!

I know this picture looks weird...dont know what setting we had the camera on...us at the skating rink!!!!

Clay showing Jack his moves :)

Hanging out on the side while everyone does the hokey pokey :)

Jack at the skating rink!!!

Halloween at the Skating Rink...

For Halloween we decided to go to the Tri-Ward Activity at Tiffany's Skate-In! We obviously couldnt take Jack trick-or-treating and we wanted to do something so we went roller skating!!! We actually ended up having a fun time! We could take the stroller out on the floor and Jack had fun looking at everyone skating and falling around him! We only saw a couple people we knew but we had a fun time. And we only got one trick-or-treater at home (whats new) so now we have lots of candy...

This is a video clip of Jack and I skating! Yes, Clay was skating while filming...probably not safe...also why I am skating so slow!!! Jack doesnt look like he was having fun but he really did like it I think!!

Pumpkin Carving...

Last night we went to some friends house from the ward for a little pumpkin carving! We had only one little pumpkin but they were nice to let us have an extra one of theirs to carve! It was fun to get to know a couple new families in the ward!!! And Clay even got into the action and carved a pumpkin...I couldnt believe it!!

Jeff and Laura; Stephen, Rebecca, and Benjamin; us...our pumpkins are not so good so you can probably pick them out (ours are up on the ledge)!! we had fun in any case!!!!

Clay getting into the pumpkin carving spirit!!!!!

Benjamin was so nice to play with Jack...he had fun playing with him!!! I cant keep the toys out of his mouth and we are still working on that when we go over to other peoples houses!

Clay posing with our pumpkins...his is on the left.

Just wanted you to see what Clay did with his pumpkin...just a little BYU pride in him :)

For Brooklyn...

My friend, Lindsay, has requested that I post a video of Jack crawling/walking to give her daughter, Brooklyn, some encouragement!!

Jack loves to stand up at this window (it is his height, I guess) and so I thought I would take some footage of him walking over to get the blind cords that are not suitable for children...I know, I am a good mother! Anyways, he was pretty talkative as well...he can really get going!!!

On another note...Jack had his 9 month check-up today! I really liked his new doctor! Jack is 18.8 lbs (25%), 27.5 inches (25%), and his head circumference is 47.5 cm (50%). He also got a flu shot and his finger pricked and didnt cry once...he was tough!!! He smiled at all of the nurses and the doctor...he must get that from his dad...he is going to be very outgoing!!!

Pumpkin Patch...

On Saturday we went to a pumpkin patch/animal farm/cider farm with Clays brother, Craig, and his kids. I really wanted to go and Clay just kept telling me that the only reason I wanted to go was so I could get pictures of Jack by all of the pumpkins.

By the time we got to the farm it was raining. It wasnt raining too bad at first and Jack was actually really excited, but the rain made for some thick mud which was not fun. We walked to where the animals were and decided not to go see the fire engine that had come because the rain just kept coming down harder and harder!!

We didnt get to the pumpkin patch and ended up taking shelter in the tent where all of the cider and food was! We bought an apple fritter and some cider and even picked out a small pumpkin that was in the tent! It is a good thing the fritter was sooo good since the rain ruined our trip to the pumpkin patch. Maybe next year the weather will cooperate for us!

Yep this is our picture from the pumpkin patch. Jack looks like he was having a great time huh?! He really did like it...he was kicking his legs and 'talking' a lot! Sadly there are no pumpkins in the background...this is the best we got!

He didnt want to leave...

Since it was raining so hard we didnt get a picture of the pumpkin Clay picked out when we were at the farm...so I decided to take one of it at home...at least it is nice and clean now :)

9 months old...

Jack is 9 months old today!! I cant believe he will be 1 year in just 3 months! He doesnt go to the doctor until Thursday so I dont have any stats, but he sure is growing :). Not only is he crawling everywhere, but he loves to climb up on things and has started scooting along the edge of the couch! Walking here we come! He also has decided recently that he hates being put in his car seat and arches his back while tensing his body...not cool! He can throw a mean little fit, but is also very sweet and smiley and loves to 'talk' :). He is sleeping better and I dont even have to go in at all to give him his pacifier (arent you proud mom??)...we often hear him 'talking' (most likely to his ducky) before he drifts off to sleep. We are definitely learning patience and love our little boy!

Best we could get...he does not like staying put...I even had Clays help!

Yeah he is smiling :)

Half smiling...half trying to get off the couch!

Clay thought it would be fun to wrap Jack in the blanket...look at those teeth :)

Seattle Aquarium...

Today Jack and I went with our friend, Zennie, and her 3 kids up to Seattle for the afternoon! We met our husbands for lunch at Red Robin down along the water!!! After lunch the boys went back to work and Zennie, the kids and I went to the Seattle Aquarium!! It was a lot of fun...even though I am sure Jack didnt appreciate it as much as I did!! I didnt get good pictures but whats new! The best parts were the Sea Lions and Otters!

Our first trip to the Aquarium...doesnt Jack look so excited???

Jack and the fish! Clay was nice enough to point out the finger prints on the glass behind Jack :)

Ok, I know this is just like the pic above but I think this face is so funny :)

I was trying to pose Jack with Olive...didnt quite work...Jack is always on the go now!! But look how cute Olive is!!!!

Jack posing with the otters in the background (there is one in the corner of the tank above the water)

Jack and Pepper :) Pepper told me that Jack said her name in the car...he must like her :)
