Peper Family Reunion - Minute to Win It...

On Wednesday night, after the kids were in bed, the adults had a little fun! We usually do a gift exchange among the adults around the holidays and seeing as our family is getting bigger we arent sure we will all be together over Christmas this year. So we decided to do our exchange over the reunion...a little 'Christmas in August' if you will! The rules/game for our exchange seems to change every year and this year we decided to play 'Minute to Win It!' I think it was our best year yet! Lyndsay had done Jareds bday party with this theme and had all of the games ready to go! Perfect! So we each took a turn and if we completed our challenge we got to pick a gift! Good times to be had for sure!!!

Dad was trying to bribe someone, anyone to take the gift he got (which happened to be Kellys). I guess you win some and you lose some!!

Stretching out before his game...so unfortunate that he had to be the one to do this game seeing as he is probably the most unflexible of anyone in the room. He really did his best though and never gave up!!

Pretty sure my face in this pic tells it all!

The marble was supposed to roll down the noodle and knock over the cans...they werent moving down the noodle so well so I gave it a little blow...turns out I had more strength than I knew I had...hopefully the wall is ok! You can see one of the marbles flying through the air.

Peper Family Reunion - Midway...

On Wednesday we were planning on going to Cowabunga Bay for a few hours in the morning, but after some discussion we decided to head over to the Lehi Legacy Center instead. I think it was probably worth it in the end (much lighter on the wallet too) and we all had a good time! After swimming we headed back home to get the cars all packed and headed to a house in Midway for the rest of the week! It was perfect! The house was big enough for us all to have some space and we were all under one roof so we could play games and hang out once the kids were in bed! Plus there was a room in the basement with several bunk beds so most of the kids slept there! It was beautiful out there!

Tyler 'helping' pack the cars...he has one of the games for Minute to Win It!
Jack and Dylan in the back of Uncle Steves Jeep! The kids spent most of the morning in it!
David and Jonathan in the front seat, Jack and Dylan in the back, and Jared 'driving!' Jared looks like such a natural!!!

Some of our stuff being unloaded...it was not an easy task to pack but well worth it in the end. I think we had enough pop to last us a few more days at least!!!!
Steve bbq'd kabobs for us that night...so good!

That night Brody had been out in the garage (not sure why) and found the 4 wheeler. He got very excited and wanted to sit on it! Jonah was so nice and took him for a little drive and the kid was in Heaven!!!! Didnt take long for Brody to convince Jonah to let him sit in front and help 'drive!' I dont think I saw him any happier than driving around on that 4 wheeler!

Peper Family Reunion - Salt Lake Temple...

On Tuesday we bravely  left all 12 kids with 2 babysitters so the adults could go do a session at the Salt Lake Temple. We wrote out instructions, taped names on each kids back, and had walked the girls through the day. We felt confident! We headed up to Salt Lake and after our session (which Clay and I barely made because we happened to leave our temple clothes AND recommends at home in Washington, but were thankfully able to contact our wonderful bishop and still make it to the session with the rest of our family) we ate lunch in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building! It was wonderful to be able to spend some quality time with all of the adults and not be interrupted by kids! After lunch we headed back home to check on the kids. When we walked in, Brody was standing on a chair drinking dumping red powerade down his shirt and onto the floor and the house was a disaster! But they were all ok and each kid got a little prize bag from the babysitters! So I guess we can call it a success! (Later in the day we found out that the babysitter had called her mom - who lived 2 houses down - to come over at one point to change Brodys diaper and help get lunch!) Next time we will suggest more than 2 babysitters!!! We were going to head down to Thanksgiving Point in the afternoon for $2 Tuesdays, but after cleaning up the house we were all exhausted. So we took it easy! Clay ended up going down to Provo for the Cougar Kickoff and was able to meet up with his parents, Cameron and Virginia, Chelsea, and Chad and Colleen and fam!

Peper Family Reunion - BYU...

We drove out to Utah for the Peper Family Reunion this past week. I am trying to comb through over 1000 pictures so it might take several posts to get it all in! We sure had fun! Clay and I were sad we didnt get to see any of our friends who live out there, but we kept busy with my family!

We Clay decided to drive through the night on the way out, hoping the kids would sleep most of the time. He worked from home on Friday and we ended up leaving around 3:30pm (everything - or so we thought - was packed and ready to go, so we didnt hang around). The boys did fall asleep after we stopped for dinner and all seemed to be going well until Clay made a stop around midnight to get gas. Both kids woke up and were wide awake. So we ended up putting a movie on and they fell back asleep. I was no help in the driving area. I felt bad, but I had warned him it might not be a good idea for me to drive at night. Thankfully Clay didnt fall asleep at all and  we made it to Chad and Colleens house bright and early!

After eating breakfast and hanging out for a bit, we decided to head down to BYU for the football scrimmage. It. Was. Hot. Brody loved it and clapped after each play! It was fun to be back in the stadium again, but we didnt last too long before deciding to head up to campus. We stopped in the bookstore to get some 'gear' and eat some lunch. By that time Clay was tired (you know, no sleep in over 24 hours) so we went back up to Chad and Colleens and let Clay nap. The kids played and we all relaxed and enjoyed being able to hang out with them (no matter how short it was)!

On Monday we headed back down to BYU. First stop was J Dawgs. After getting our fill of yummy hot dogs we headed to the bookstore. It was a little crazy due to Education Week, so we made our way over to the ASB to see some old coworkers! Then we made our way to the Bean Museum (my first time there for some reason). Jack loved the scavenger hunt he got to do and Brody loved the huge 'elent' in the middle of the room! After our fill of animals, we headed to the creamery to cool off and get some ice cream. Then we had dinner at Pizza Pie Cafe, thanks to Julia!!! We love BYU!
