My new project!!!

I just recently got my first plant ever!! (I know you are thinking...really Katy???) I always love going into homes that have plants and think...that adds such a nice touch, I should do that! I guess I have always been too scared, afterall, I dont know how to keep plants alive, etc. But I finally did it! We took a trip to Home Depot and I got a Jade plant for $3!. It is small and cute! I have actually had the pot for over a year (I bought it while living with Kristi last summer) but am finally putting it to use! Hopefully it will live a long and fruitful life!!!!

So this is fun!! I just found this new way to post videos to my blog that is really easy so I thought I would try it out!!!

A couple of weeks ago I was changing Jacks crib sheet and to do that I have to take off the bumper. When I was putting the bumper back on I decided to put him in the crib. I was kneeling on the ground and he kept popping up to find me over the bumper and just thought it was histerical!!! Of course by the time I got the camera he wasnt doing it as much as before but you get the idea :). Dont listen too close to my annoying voice in the background...do I really sound like that (poor Jack)???

Colorado Trip...

This past weekend we flew out to Colorado to celebrate my grandma's 80th birthday!! We had a lot of fun and got to spend the weekend with not only my parents, brothers and sisters (and their families), but also our extended family!!! We had so much fun (minus my mom and Steve getting really sick and missing the big party) but the weekend was not long enough!!


On the airplane ride out Jack managed to spill Diet Coke all over his toys and books as well as Clays pants and my leg. How fun :). He doesnt sit as quietly as he did a couple of months ago when I flew with him to Illinois! When we got to Denver, we went to the Zoo and I had a lot of fun remembering all of the times we went to the Denver Zoo as little kids!!! That night we relaxed in the hotel pool! Friday the boys went golfing and then we had a family dinner with the Wainwrights! Saturday was the big party for Grammy! Lots of good food and great family!!! In our down time (which wasnt a lot) we played lots of games and hung out! All in all it was a great trip although much too short!

I am starting to realize how horrible I am at taking pictures. I hardly have any...something I intend to work on!

7 months old...

My boy is now 7 months old! Where has the time gone? He is sitting up so well now and we are just waiting for him to figure out how to move around/crawl!! He drools all the time and now has 5 teeth :). He loves playing with his books and pulling his toys out of baskets! He is such a good boy...I am so lucky!!!

Not having a good hair day...oh well

Arachnophobia...

Ok, so I am TERRIFIED of spiders. I get very tense and start breathing hard when I see them...and yes I scream and jump when they scare me sometimes!!!

Ever since we have moved down here to Albany we seem to have a lot of spiders in the house...not cool. I have gotten a little braver and will kill the really small ones but it is still hard.

Well, last night Clay was at work and I saw a BIG spider on the floor. It was about the color of the carpet so I jumped a little because I didnt see it at first. I scared it and it started going into the linen closet. So I opened the door and tried to decide what to do. I finally realized that I needed to kill it unless I wanted to find it later in one of my towells or sheets. So I grabbed a BIG roll of toilet paper and got down on all fours. I just couldnt do it...so I sat there and watched the spider crawl around the base board and slowly work its way back towards me and the door. When it got to where the door closes I had a great idea and shut the door! I killed it!!! But then I had to pick it up and discard it. So I attempted 3 different times at picking it up and finally managed (all the while sweating and panting).

I was proud of myself for actually taking care of the spider instead of just leaving it...which I have been known to do in the past!! Now I am nowhere near being over my fear of spiders but at least I am getting better :).

6 month checkup...

Well Jack had his 6 month checkup today (yes he is practically 7 months old...oh well)! He did a very good job at the doctors :). He is now 27" long and weighs 17lbs. 14oz.!! He is right on average in height and weight and of course above average in head circumference!!! He is getting a lot better with his shots and only screams right when the shots go in but perks up shortly after!!! He was even a very good boy when the missionaries came over for dinner tonight!!

We know the blues dont match but that vest is too cute!!!!

What we have been doing lately...

Well, I have learned that Jacks hair is getting long and thus producing curls now!! It may be hard to tell but I swear they are there!! I am still not ready to cut his hair yet mom, but it is definitely coming in! We went to Clays work picnic for Target this past weekend! They had lots of food and fun! We had a nice time in the park but were too late to enter the drawing for the great prizes...oh well :).

We got Jack some sunglasses. He is not very good about keeping them on as you can see! They mostly end up in his mouth.

4 years and counting!!!

Well, we have now been married for 4 years!!!

Clay works nights but was able to go in late (around 7pm) so that we could go to dinner!

It was fun to be able to reflect on the wedding and the past 4 years and all that we have done (and the many trips we have taken to Disneyland...and of course there was talk about the next one)!!! I am so greatful to have such a wonderful husband...he is such a great dad :)
