Clay and I have been talking a lot lately about our boys. We have decided that Jack is more like his mother and Brody is more like his father (obviously not in all respects)! Isnt it fun to 'compare' your kids a little?!

Jack:
The other day we were sitting at the table eating and the following conversation took place...
Clay: I think I like Home Depot better than Lowes.
Jack: Yeah, well I like Target best of all!
A boy after my own heart! We love Target! Oh, and Ellen! He asks to watch Ellen all the time too (although Brody will sit and watch it with me too)!!
He is such a good dancer. I had taken the boys to Chipotle for dinner one night when Clay was gone and he heard a song he liked and just stood up (right by his chair) and started showing me his 'moves'! It was so cute!
He asks to take gymnastics all the time. He did about a year ago and loved it and still talks about it!
He is also quite the singer. I am amazed at how well he stays on pitch for such a small boy!!
He is still a boys boy...dont let me fool you, but we are kind of waiting for him to be our theater boy!
He is shy just like his mom and loves to sit with me and read (I love that)!

Brody:
He LOVES balls! He is always holding a ball or throwing a ball or something that resembles a ball! He loves his basketball hoop and is always trying to put the 'real' size bball into the small hoop! We are planning on him being our basketball/football player!
He is a flirt! He smiles at all of the girls when we are out and about and doesnt skip a beat in saying 'hi' or 'bye' to anyone!
He likes his meat! He is such a meat eater...he likes most food (he does NOT like bananas or cheese however), but definitely prefers meat!
He loves to play with the play kitchen! He is always carrying something around, a bowl or bucket of some kind, filled with play food and other random toys (a ball of some kind)!
His latest obsession is the ice. He has figured out how to open up our freezer (it is on the bottom of the fridge) and will get a pitcher and fill it up with ice. If he hears the freezer door opening he heads right over to 'help'!

Even though these boys have different personalities, they also have things in common!
They are both stubborn. Very stubborn. They dont like help with anything, but they get so frustrated when they cant get something to work. Drives me nuts. They usually end up screaming and getting mad instead of patiently asking for help or trying to figure it out on their own.
They have recently started wrestling with each other. It makes me a little nervous at times, but they both seem to be laughing and having a good time...is this a brotherly thing??
They love to play blocks. They could sit and build with their wooden block set for hours. Pretty sure we build towers every day!
They both love their shows. Cant say I am too proud of this, but it is cute to see them sitting nicely next to each other on the couch sometimes!
Jack can be such a nice big brother. He is always looking out for Brody (at the doctors office, store, etc) and doesnt like it when he is sad. Brody definitely looks up to Jack and follows him around wherever he goes!

Family resemblance...

I have never been good at figuring out who my kids look like. Just not my thing. Anyways, I took this picture of Brody the other day and when I looked at it the first thing I thought was that he looked like Clay. So of course I had to go dig up some baby pictures of Clay to compare! So fun! I just cant get over how big my baby is getting!

Brody...

Where is Brody?

Peek.a.boo!

Car wash...

I came home from a Relief Society activity yesterday afternoon to find Jack helping his dad wash the car. He was being a big helper so I snapped a few pictures! Everyone was having fun, enjoying the beautiful weather, until Clay looked over at Jack to find him with a rock in his hand 'writing' on his precious car. Not good. You dont mess with Clay and his car! I honestly thought Jack was going to get beat or something but I have to say that Clay remained calm and we were able to have a good teaching moment about not touching the car...EVER. Oh boy!

Random Little Projects...

These are just a few little projects of sorts I have been working on.

The temple blocks were for some Christmas gifts (and one for myself of course!). I found the idea here and had Clay cut me some wood and sand it (thanks to my dad for buying a new saw that he could use)! I made it as an 8x10 roughly instead of the smaller size in the instructions and I really like how they turned out!

The 'box' was a last minute Valentines Day gift for Clay! He finally took it into work after a few days...not sure what took him so long...who wouldnt want something so cute sitting on their desk for all to see?!

And the last two pictures are something I saw here and wanted to do for my boys! So easy to make and I really like them...I only wish there was some way to put their birth weight, length, etc. on it. Oh well. Next up, working on Brodys birthday gift!!

Home Tour (main floor)...

We have been living in Fife again for almost 3 months now! We were really lucky to be able to rent Chad and Colleens house from them now that they are in Utah! Jack was so confused at first...he thought everything (furniture, food, etc.) in the house was his cousins and was waiting for them to come take it all back, but we were finally able to assure him it was our stuff and his cousins had their own stuff in their new house! We love having a house (even if we are just renting)...all of the space is so nice (once I got the toys organized and a million blankets washed and put away)! We havent hung any pictures (besides Clays BYU picture of course!) because Clay doesnt want to put too many holes in the walls in case the house sells. We had to buy curtains and ended up with gray that matches the paint downstairs. It is a little too boring for me but it works for now! I may try to add some more colorful fabric to the bottom since they arent quite long enough, but that wont be for a while! I do love that the walls are painted, it is refreshing! We are feeling settled and enjoying our new space!
